In a political game-changer, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has scored a resounding victory in the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency by-election, shaking up long-held assumptions and cementing Governor Uba Sani’s reputation for inclusive, people-first leadership.
Kaduna State’s incoming Commissioner of Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, hailed the win as a clear testament to the trust communities now place in Governor Sani’s vision and the APC’s transformative agenda.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Maiyaki described the triumph as both historic and symbolic, breaking a “jinx” in a constituency that had traditionally resisted the APC’s appeal.
“The people of Chikun and Kajuru, along with voters in Zaria Kewaye and Basawa State Assembly constituencies, have sent an unmistakable message: they demand progressive leadership, not recycled promises,” Maiyaki said passionately.
Official results from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) revealed a landslide win for the APC, which pulled 34,580 votes crushing the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) 11,491 votes, the African Democratic Congress’s 3,477, and the Social Democratic Party’s mere 142.
Maiyaki attributed this sweeping victory to Governor Sani’s grassroots-driven policies, improvements in roads, healthcare, education, and security that resonate deeply with the electorate.

“These are not empty slogans but real, tangible changes that have won the hearts and minds of Kaduna’s people,” Maiyaki explained amid celebrations.
“Chikun and Kajuru are no longer opposition bastions; they are now vital pillars in the APC’s growing dominance across Kaduna State,” Maiyaki affirmed.
Looking forward, he stressed that this momentum propels the APC to a strong position ahead of the crucial 2027 general elections.
“For the APC family, the message is crystal clear: Kaduna is rallying behind inclusive, development-focused leadership that delivers real results,” he concluded.
Stay tuned as Kaduna’s political future unfolds, the APC is rewriting the rules, one historic victory at a time.
