In a statement released via the club’s official X handle on Tuesday, Forest confirmed Dyche’s appointment after a comprehensive recruitment process led by Global Head of Football Edu Gaspar and Global Technical Director George Syrianos.
Dyche, a former Forest youth player, will make his managerial debut on Thursday night when The Reds face FC Porto in the Europa League.
Joining Dyche are his long-time coaching partners, Ian Woan and Steve Stone, both former Forest players who made over 400 appearances for the club in the 1990s. Their return marks a powerful reunion on and off the pitch.
With over 330 Premier League games under his belt, Dyche is widely respected for building tough, defensively solid teams defined by resilience, set-piece strength, and tactical discipline, all qualities that match Forest’s identity and current squad.

“As a former youth player who lives locally, Dyche brings not just experience, but passion, pride, and a deep understanding of what Forest means to its fans,” the club shared.
This major announcement follows the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou, with Dyche emerging as the top choice to lead Forest into a competitive season across both domestic and European competitions.
