Good news for Nigerian students! The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has officially opened its student loan application portal for the 2025/2026 academic year, offering vital financial support to students in tertiary institutions nationwide.

In a statement released by Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, NELFUND’s Director of Strategic Communications, students, especially freshers, are encouraged to begin their applications using either their Admission Number or JAMB Registration Number if a matric number hasn’t been assigned yet.
Special Notice to Tertiary Institutions:
NELFUND is appealing to institutions to be flexible with registration and school fee deadlines for students whose loan applications are in process. They’ve urged schools to consider temporary registration options to ensure that no student is denied education due to financial challenges.
For institutions that haven’t started the new session yet, NELFUND requests a formal letter including the approved academic calendar to ensure proper scheduling.
