The Flying Eagles, who are seven-time African champions and two-time FIFA U-20 World Cup runners-up, will depart Nigeria for Cairo on Sunday. Before the group opener against Tunisia on May 1, they will play warm-up matches in Egypt. The team’s group matches also include games against Morocco (May 4) and Kenya (May 7).
The top four teams from the tournament will secure spots to represent Africa at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, which will take place from September 27 to October 19.
