Hida Baci Prioritizes Cleanliness Ahead of Culinary Record

Celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder Hilda Baci has reassured Nigerians that hygiene remains a top priority as she prepares for her latest culinary feat cooking what is expected to be the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.

Baci, who rose to international fame after her 100-hour cooking marathon in Lagos in May 2023, shared a light-hearted yet reassuring update on Instagram ahead of the event, taking place at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.

In a video post, the chef could be seen standing inside the custom-built six-metre-wide pot, scrubbing its interior with a branded detergent.

“Yes, I can officially confirm this pot is squeaky clean! I personally rolled up my sleeves and washed it myself,” she wrote, tagging the detergent partner.

Hilda Baci Implements Extra Cleaning Measures for Maximum Safety

Baci explained that the pot was being thoroughly cleaned and rinsed multiple times, promising fans that only the highest hygiene standards would be maintained throughout the cooking process.

“I can assure you that once I am done washing the interior of the pot and I’ve gotten rid of all the liquid, I’m going to rinse it again, and I have brand new mopsticks that I would be using to clean it once again before we use it to cook for you,” she said.

The event, organised in partnership with seasoning brand Gino, is free to attend and is expected to draw more than 20,000 people eager to witness the culinary milestone.
