Olamide, also known as Baddo, has opened up about his friendship with Afrobeats heavyweights Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy.
Speaking on the Afrobeats Podcast with Adesope Olajide, Olamide described the trio as his “troublesome friends”… but says their bond remains strong despite occasional disagreements.
In his words… “They are my friends. They’re just too troublesome. Sometimes we can’t align on everything, and that’s fine.”
Wizkid Collaboration Sparked by Spontaneity
The YBNL boss also shared the story behind his collaboration with Wizkid.
Their hit “Kia” led unexpectedly to another track “Billionaire’s Club” after Wizkid heard it during a video shoot and jumped on it immediately.
Olamide praised Wizkid for his endless support, calling him “a solid dude.”
Beyond friendship, the interview reflected on Olamide’s career spanning over a decade… with more than ten projects, global tours, and collaborations including one with U.S. rap legend Dr Dre.

As an executive, he has nurtured some of Afrobeats’ biggest stars Fireboy DML, Asake, Adekunle Gold, Young Jonn, and Lil Kesh.
Olamide Credits God for His Longevity and Success
When asked about the secret to his enduring success, Olamide was clear Olamide credited his faith in God, saying nothing extraordinary can happen without His blessings and grace.
He also recalled his early struggles, explaining that his drive to help others came from not having support when he was starting out.
And now… Olamide is set for another career milestone a headline show at London’s OVO Arena on November 23, 2025.
