Edo North Senator and former governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has accused immediate past governor Godwin Obaseki of failing Edo State woefully. Speaking on Sunday in Benin, Oshiomhole claimed that Governor Monday Okpebholo inherited a state abandoned for eight years.
Oshiomhole criticized Obaseki for conducting numerous ground-breaking ceremonies that delivered little tangible results. He also dismissed the PDP as a “dead party,” urging journalists to report facts rather than statements lacking credibility.
Highlighting the achievements of the current administration, Oshiomhole praised Okpebholo for ongoing infrastructure projects, including the flyover at Ramat Park, and multiple road constructions aimed at easing traffic congestion.
In education, he commended the government for rehabilitating schools, recruiting 5,000 teachers, and increasing funding for higher institutions. According to him, Ambrose Alli University now receives ₦500 million monthly, while Edo University, Iyamho receives ₦250 million—a move he described as a strategic investment in the state’s academic future.
Oshiomhole concluded that the current administration’s projects demonstrate a genuine commitment to development, countering claims that they are mere political propaganda.
