PDP SUSPENDS KADUNA STATE SECRETARY OVER ALLEGED MISCONDUCT

Sa’idu Adamu of PDP Kaduna suspended over alleged misconduct

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State has suspended its State Secretary, Mr. Sa’idu Adamu, following serious allegations of gross misconduct and anti-party activities.

In a statement released on Tuesday, October 7, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Mrs. Maria Dogo, said the suspension was in accordance with Articles 58(1)(h) and 57(3) of the PDP Constitution (2017, as amended).

According to her, the decision was made on Monday, October 6, during a State Working Committee (SWC) meeting at the party’s secretariat in Kaduna.

The suspension takes immediate effect and will last for one month, pending the outcome of internal investigations. During this period, Mr. Adamu is prohibited from taking part in any PDP activity at any level.

Mrs. Dogo reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fairness, justice, and internal discipline under the leadership of the State Chairman, Mr. Edward Percy Masha. “These efforts are part of a broader move to strengthen party structures and ensure accountability,” she stated.

Not an Isolated Case
This development comes just weeks after another PDP figure, Hon. Bernard Udemezue, was suspended by the Anambra State House of Assembly. On August 26, 2025, the lawmaker representing Ayamelum Constituency was handed a 3-month suspension for posting what the House called “damaging content” on social media.

In his post, Udemezue claimed that Ayamelum was being marginalized in the distribution of constituency allowances, an allegation that quickly sparked political backlash.

These incidents highlight ongoing tensions within party ranks and point to growing scrutiny of public officials’ conduct, both online and offline.

What are your thoughts on these suspensions? Do they reflect progress in enforcing accountability, or are they signs of deeper cracks within the party?
