POLICE INSPECTOR, DAUGHTER, 3 OTHERS ABDUCTED IN AKOKO-EDO, DEMAND ₦100 MILLION RANSOM
Fear has gripped Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State after gunmen abducted five persons, including a Police Inspector and his young daughter, in what residents describe as a coordinated attack.
The incident occurred on February 8, 2026, in Auchi, as armed men stormed the residence of Inspector Segun Obanowa, abducting him alongside his wife and daughter. The wife was later released and reportedly told to source ransom for her husband and child’s freedom. The Inspector is rumoured to be a high-ranking officer of the Edo State police.
