“THEIR RIFT IS SPIRITUAL” – BRACKET’S SMASH OPENS UP ON P-SQUARE’S BREAKUP

Bracket’s Smash speaking about P-Square’s breakup during an interview

Obumneme Ali, popularly known as Smash of the award-winning duo Bracket, has weighed in on the widely publicized fallout between the iconic twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, better known as P-Square.

Speaking on the AFRIMMA Podcast alongside his music partner Vast, Smash revealed that the rift between the Okoye brothers is deeper than what many believe, describing it as “spiritual.”

Smash recalled a personal conversation he had with Paul, where the singer admitted that their long-standing feud was beyond ordinary disagreements.

“I’m closer to Paul than Peter, but I always visit Peter’s house and he listens whenever I talk to him. Honestly, as someone close to them, I can say their problem is spiritual. The last time I spoke to Paul, I told him his issue with Peter wasn’t ordinary — it was spiritual — and he agreed,” Smash revealed.

He went on to express his sadness over the state of affairs, reminiscing on how tightly knit the Okoye brothers once were, alongside their elder brother and manager, Jude Okoye.

“If you knew how close they were and how passionately they worked for the P-Square brand with Jude, you’d feel really sad about what is happening today,” he added.

P-Square, who dominated the African music scene for nearly two decades with hit songs and electrifying performances, shocked fans worldwide when they went their separate ways in 2017 after a series of disputes. While they have since reunited, the group’s turbulent history continues to spark conversations among fans and industry insiders.
