President Bola Tinubu has approved a key leadership change at the Federal Fire Service. Effective August 14, 2025, Olumode Samuel Adeyemi will become the new Controller-General.
A Seamless Leadership Transition
This follows the retirement of Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji, whosteps down on August 13 after turning 60.
A statement by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) confirmed the appointment.
The statement was signed by the board’s Secretary, Major General A.M. Jibril (retd.), on behalf of the President.
Adeyemi Brings Deep Experience
Olumode transferred from the FCT Fire Service to the Federal Fire Service years ago.
He rose through the ranks and recently served as Deputy Controller-General for Human Resources.
Throughout his career, he completed all required training, including command and international courses.
This strong track record earned him the top job.

A Member of Several Institutes
Olumode is a fellow of several respected professional bodies.
These include the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria and the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria.
He also holds membership in the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.
