President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and united as the country marks the Easter celebration, likening the resurrection of Jesus Christ to Nigeria’s journey toward peace and prosperity.
In a statement released on Friday, the President described Easter as a period that signifies sacrifice, redemption, love, and hope—values he said are crucial in confronting the nation’s present challenges.
As President of our blessed nation, I draw inspiration from this timeless message of hope and renewal,”Tinubu said,I remain steadfast in my commitment to delivering the promise of a Renewed Hope ,a better, more just, and prosperous Nigeria for all.”
Addressing the security situation, Tinubu expressed sorrow over recent violent incidents and assured Nigerians that his administration is fully committed to restoring peace.
I understand the pain and fear these incidents have caused. Let me assure you that my administration’s resolve to restore peace and security remains unshakeable. The forces of evil will never prevail over our country, he said.
The President noted that the Armed Forces and other security agencies have been instructed to decisively combat insecurity and praised their ongoing efforts in reclaiming stability across affected regions.
On the economy, Tinubu acknowledged the difficulties many citizens are facing but pointed to signs of gradual recovery. He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to reviving investor confidence, stabilising critical sectors, and building an inclusive economy.
We understand the economic challenges many of you are facing, and we are working tirelessly to restore investor confidence, stabilise key sectors, and build an inclusive economy that serves the interests of all Nigerians, he added.
Tinubu also joined Christians worldwide in celebrating the recovery of Pope Francis, expressing hope that the pontiff’s renewed strength would continue to inspire his leadership and service to humanity.
Concluding his Easter message, the President urged Nigerians to draw strength from the significance of the season.
“Just as Christ triumphed over death, so too shall our country triumph over every challenge we face. The present moment may be cloudy, but it will usher in a glorious day,” he said.
“May the risen Christ bless our homes with peace and our nation with continued unity and prosperity. Happy Easter to all my fellow Nigerians.”
