Tragic Domestic Violence Claims Two Lives in Adamawa’s Madagali and Gombi LGAs

The Adamawa State Police Command is investigating two devastating cases of domestic violence resulting in death in Madagali and Gombi local government areas. According to police spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroje, the first incident in Pallam District, Madagali, involved a deadly confrontation between two co-wives. Victoria Anthony’s 16-year-old son, Ijai Anthony, reportedly struck his stepmother, Rhoda Anthony, on the head with a wooden object during the dispute. Despite quick police response and emergency treatment at Cottage Hospital, Rhoda succumbed to her injuries. Both mother and son are now in custody as investigations proceed.

A similar tragedy unfolded in Fotta District, Gombi, where Idi Buba stabbed his biological father, Buba Jelli, following a domestic argument. The victim was rushed to the Primary Health Care Center but later died from his wounds. The suspect was arrested at the scene, and the murder weapon has been seized as evidence. Adamawa State Police Commissioner CP Dankombo Morris condemned these acts of violence and urged residents to exercise restraint and resolve conflicts peacefully. Investigations continue, and the suspects will be prosecuted upon completion.
