EDO COMMUNITIES

EDO STATE — November 2, 2026

Residents and business owners in several Edo State communities are experiencing scheduled electricity interruptions following maintenance work announced by the Transmission Company of Nigeria.

The exercise, scheduled for November 2 and 3, affects the 100MVA transformer at the Irrua 132/33kV Transmission Substation.

According to TCN, the maintenance will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on both days.

The work will enable contractors to commission a SERGI fire protection system installed on the transformer.

As a result, Benin Electricity Distribution Company will be unable to receive bulk electricity for distribution through the Ehor, Uzebba, Ubiaja, Ekpoma and Agbor 33kV feeders during the maintenance periods.

The disruption is expected to affect homes, commercial establishments and other electricity consumers connected to the affected feeders.

TCN has apologised to customers for the inconvenience.

Residents are advised to plan their electricity-dependent activities around the announced maintenance schedule.

VOS TV News will monitor the restoration of electricity supply following the scheduled work.
